Coney Island
Astroland (along with much of "iconic" Coney Island) is slated to be torn down at the end of the 2007 season. Visit www.coneyisland.com for information about the park. These shots were taken on March 31st, the day before the park opened this year.
Update (10/06/07): This section has been expanded to include pictures from the whole season. 6 visits in one summer, we couldn't get enough of this place. As far as redevelopment plans, some parts of the park such as Shoot The Freak, and Astroland have been granted one more year. The Coney Island Museum was declared a landmark and the city jumped in to help them purchase the building that they occupy. But there is still question as to what will remain when we return for next year's Mermaid Parade.
